An even sportier Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design will greet Volvo lovers. The key point is the more improved version chassis and engines. Thanks to it, the agility, steering and other driving-satisfaction factors have increased significantly. Volvo Cars' manager of vehicle dynamics, Stefan Sällqvist also stated that with this improved version of Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design, the driver will be made believe that he/she was driving hyper-boosted racing car.

The customers have the luxury to select which engine they prefer to use so that they could adjust with their suitable driving experience. They could choose between petrol engines and diesel engines ranging from the economical 1.6 D DRIVe version to the high performance T6 version (115 horsepower-304 horsepower). Naturally, the development team has made adjustments to minimize the fuel usage.

To further empower the overall R-Design's performance, Volvo's development team has added new feature that will back up the chassis. The already powered up chassis (using a range of electronic systems) will get large support from the DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control) system. This new version of DSTC anti-spin system will regulate the braking system so that there will be less understeering tendency.

The DSTC system is also able to quickly identify any slipping tendency with greater precision using its new gyroscopic roll-angle sensor (this function is called Advanced Stability Control). The Engine Drag Control makes prevention against the grip-losing during engine braking on slippery road. The driver could alternate between enabling and disabling the anti-spin function so that he/she could experience different driving sensation.

All in all, the whole upgrade in the R-Design make this vehicle a suitable choice for customers who have selective driving style.
